Porcelain Crowns & Porcelain Bridges
By Dr. Tanya Brown and Dr. Matthew Cawley

Porcelain Dental Crowns and Bridges are dental restorations that are used to replace missing or damaged teeth. These restorations are common in Dentistry and can help to restore the appearance, function, and health of your teeth.

What are Porcelain Dental Crowns and Porcelain Bridges?

Porcelain Dental Crowns are custom-made dental restorations used to replace the enamel covering of your tooth.  Porcelain Dental Crowns will strengthen a damaged or weakened tooth to protect you from further damage or tooth loss.
Dental Crowns are custom made for you and can be made out of porcelain, a combination of metal & porcelain, or all metal. Typically, Dr. Tanya Brown and Dr. Matthew Cawley recommend all porcelain crowns since they are esthetically pleasing and functionally strong.  If you have ever noticed the dark line at the gum line around an old crown on yourself or someone else, that can be eliminated by using all porcelain crowns.

Porcelain Bridge

You can replace a missing tooth easily with a Porcelain Bridge. A Porcelain Dental Bridge, sometimes referred to as a Fixed Partial Denture, is anchored to teeth on either side of the missing tooth.
Like Porcelain Crowns, a Dental Bridge can be made out of all porcelain, a combination of metal & porcelain, or all metal. All porcelain bridges are made from tooth-colored Porcelain/Zirconia and blend into your smile without the dark line of metal.

How do Porcelain Dental Crowns and Bridges Work?

Dental Porcelain Crowns and Bridges work by restoring your function and appearance of damaged or missing teeth. In the case of a Porcelain crown, it is placed over a damaged tooth to provide support and protection. The Porcelain crown is shaped by our expert Dental Lab Technicians to fit your tooth precisely and is cemented into place by Dr. Tanya Brown or Dr. Matthew Cawley.

In the case of a Porcelain Bridge, it is placed where you are missing one or more teeth and is connected or “bridged” together.  This creates a functional and esthetically pleasing replacement for your missing teeth that is “fixed” in place for your comfort as well as your confidence.
